She's starting her career from a model. Her first shoot as a model is for KAWANKU Magazine in 1997,one of the key teen magazines in Indonesia.

After that she got so many modeling shots for magazines and some products. One of the talent scouts from MTV, who look for VJ for MTV Indonesia Music Program, find her after her face almost every month appeared in some magazines. Then her face almost every day appeared on MTV channel.

Her talent as a singer started not because she's a VJ of MTV. She really has that since she’s 3 years old. She's also a very discipline people. That's why Warner Music Indonesia interested to contract her.

Shanty's first album released on 2000 and sold almost 85,000 units and her image & profile become strengthen in the music industry. The album followed by some awards for Best Female New Comer in : MTV Award, Clear Top Tens, AMI Award and Anugrah Planet Muzik award at 2002. She’s started to believe that this is her new path. On December 2003 she's ready to launch her 2"d album entitled 'PERSEMBAHAN DARI HATI, the album gave her for Best Producer and Best Pop and Disco artis. On May 2005,her 3rd album entitled “SEPERTI LANGIT” had been released. That album also gave her an AMI 2005 trophy for Best Female Singer For Category Pop Alternative. In the year 2005 Shanty start to play movie. Her 1st movie called “ Detik Terakhir “, Shanty played as a Supporting Actress. And March 2006, Shanty 2nd movie had been released. The title is “ Berbagi Suami “. In her 2nd movie Shanty start to be a Leading Actress.

In the year 2007, there are lots of project would be released. As a leading actress, few movies are going to be released this year, the first title is “ KALA “ under the famous director Mr.Joko Anwar, released on April 2007 and the 2nd movie for the year 2007, the title is “ The Photograph “ under the famous director Mr. Nan.T Achnas. The Photograph released on June 2007 and it taked part to The Cannes Film Festival 2007. The 3rd movie of Shanty for year 2007 called “ Maaf Saya Menghamili Istri Anda “. And the 4th movie for year 2007 called “ Perempuan Punya Cerita“. In the year 2008, Shanty’s 7th movie released, its called “ Takut “ ( The Faces Of Fear )

Beside the movies, on the year 2007 Shanty’s 4th album have been released. Its called “ Shanty 9907 “.

This all proved that Shanty is not just a singer but also someone who have a big talent for music and movie.
